I just had a 20 minute telephone conversation with a friend in Spain via Skype on my Powerbook using a headset with microphone.
Excellent quality sound - apparently I sounded a bit odd on the other end but more than acceptable.
Total cost for the call... only 20p (36 US cents/ 0.30 Euros)
Not bad - higly recommended if you've never tried it.
